Ready To Eat OEM Malaysia

Build an RTE product around the right process — not just a pretty pack.

Ready To Eat is an O2O Alliance project platform. We qualify RTE enquiries and coordinate suitable briefs with our current manufacturing partner, Hai Soon Leong Sdn. Bhd. (HSL Food), rather than presenting O2O Alliance as the factory.

What is Ready To Eat OEM?

Ready To Eat OEM is contract manufacturing for food products intended to be consumed with minimal or no further preparation. For enquiries through rte.com.my, O2O Alliance first structures and qualifies the project before suitable briefs are coordinated with HSL Food for manufacturing review. Depending on the product, this may include ambient retort meals, chilled foods, frozen meals, sauces, side dishes or complete meal components.

What information should you prepare?

  • Product concept and reference recipe
  • Target customer and sales channel
  • Desired pack size and serving format
  • Preferred shelf life and storage condition
  • Expected first order and monthly volume
  • Halal or other certification requirements
  • Target launch date and market

Typical RTE product categories

Malaysian-style curries, rendang, sambal, rice dishes, soups, dhal, gravies, noodle sauces, braised dishes and other meal components are common RTE concepts. Feasibility depends on process, ingredients and packaging.

Why recipes change during commercialisation

A kitchen recipe is optimised for immediate eating. A factory recipe must also be repeatable, measurable and compatible with the selected thermal process, filling method and packaging. Texture, viscosity and seasoning may need adjustment after process trials.

How quotation usually works

Price depends on ingredients, processing time, packaging, pack size, MOQ, labour, required testing and certification. A meaningful quotation therefore starts with a structured brief rather than a one-line request for “OEM price”.
